Office and retail space opens on Brodie Lane
General contractor, LaBorde Contractors
Inc., recently delivered the Brodie Square Center in southwest Austin. CalStone Partners Ltd. of Austin is the Owner.

 “The construction team met a few obstacles, especially since this was a SOS project,” said LaBorde. “We had to stay fully compliant with all current development rules and meet all water quality regulations. This is a 3.2 acre tract with a small amount of cut and fill requirements.”

CasaBella Architects provided the architecture services for the commercial project.

“Located just south of the Brodie Lane and William Cannon intersection, this mixed use project creates a shopping area that is easily accessible,” said Principal Jaime F.Palomo, AIA.  

“The Owner requested that the project be unique in its design, easily and economically constructed and prominently placed on the site that sits lower than the adjacent roadways.”

He said CasaBella Architects’ design
responded to such challenges by using a
conventional steel structure and tall parapet walls making the structure visible from all vehicular approaches. “Traditional stone masonry and brick
highlights were used to compliment the existing commercial buildings in this rapidly growing area,” Palomo continued.


Sandy LaBorde founded LaBorde Contractors Inc. in 1983. LaBorde said the company has completed various types of construction projects in Austin, San Marcos, Dallas and the surrounding areas.
A few projects include Post Oak Villa Apartments and Crest Villas in San Marcos and Wells Fargo Financials in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. “We have also remodeled various multi family projects and new homes in Austin and the surrounding counties,” LaBorde said. “More recently, we have worked on 10,000sf to 40,000sf design/build retail centers.
